Senior Skills Coach

This is an exciting new opportunity for a seasoned skills coach to join an innovate team that delivers training and coaches learners to achieve apprenticeship standards– mainly within construction. As Senior Skills Coach you will manage a caseload of students where you will coach them through their apprenticeship’s programmes, support in their personal development and future career aspirations. The successful candidate will be highly experienced in apprenticeships and be familiar with record keeping for ESFA funding requirements, along with the ability to be able to coach and mentor less experienced colleagues.

This is a full-time position offering £38,000 – £42,000 PA – we are looking for the successful candidate to either be based in Warrington (North West) or London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible and accountable for a caseload of learners across all standards ensuring learner targets and KPIs are met.
  • Develop and deliver innovative intervention solutions to ensure high levels of learner attendance, punctuality, retention and achievement.
  • Ensure learners are provided with the opportunities to demonstrate new skills development in the workplace.
  • Meet the requirements of Apprenticeship funding rules, including timely and accurate completion of all learner journey documentation including on-boarding, assessment days, learner progress reviews etc.
  • Monitor, reviews and document apprentices progress aligned with knowledge, skills and behaviours against national standards of an apprenticeship programme.
  • Act as a learner support and intervention coach throughout the apprentice journey.
  • Promote the organisations curriculum offer amongst employers and support in generating new starters.
  • Liaise with instructors, learner coaches and other staff and employers to enable and encourage learners’ achievement, progression and retention.
  • Keep up to date with development of standards.
  • Actively support and mentor less experienced skills coaches

Essential Criteria

  • Hold Functional Skills (Maths, English, IT) to Level 2
  • Hold relevant industry qualifications min Level 3
  • Hold a teaching/assessing qualification (PTLLS, TAQA, A1, CAVA Etc)
  • Experience of delivering high quality and effective learning experiences achievement, progression and retention.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills, organisation skills and demonstrable presentation skills.
  • Experiences in using data to analyse performance and plan improvements.
  • Construction based background or apprenticeships experience is advantageous but not essential
