Business Development Executive: Role Overview
As a Business Development Executive, you will play a key role in driving growth across the tech and digital apprenticeship space. Your focus will be on developing employer relationships, generating new leads, and ensuring apprenticeship opportunities are created and successfully matched with suitable candidates.
This is a proactive role involving regular employer engagement, networking, and outreach activity. You’ll work closely with the wider engagement team to convert opportunities into placements, supporting both employers looking to grow their workforce and individuals starting their careers. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
Business Development Executive: Key Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture relationships with employers across the region, from initial contact through to confirmed apprenticeship opportunities.
- Actively generate new business through calls, LinkedIn, email, networking events, and employer visits.
- Promote apprenticeship and training programmes, demonstrating their value to businesses of all sizes.
- Support the conversion of employer prospects into live vacancies, working to monthly placement targets.
- Arrange and coordinate interviews between employers and candidates, ensuring a smooth recruitment process.
- Maintain accurate pipelines and employer records to track progress and performance.
- Provide clear advice and guidance to employers on apprenticeship routes and funding processes.
- Represent the organisation at events, conferences, and networking sessions to increase visibility and build contacts.
- Collaborate with internal teams to match candidates to opportunities quickly and effectively.
Business Development Executive: Essential Experience
- Experience in business development, sales, recruitment, or employer engagement.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with local businesses.
- Proven record of converting prospects into signed opportunities or placements.
- Confident communicator, comfortable presenting to employers and networking professionally.
- Experience working in apprenticeship, further education and training sectors would be advantageous
- Organised and detail-focused, able to manage multiple priorities.
- IT-proficient (Excel, Word, CRM systems).
- Passionate about supporting employers and learners in the tech and digital sectors.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
